Maximise focus, productivity and wellbeing

Transform your focus, performance and wellbeing by fortifying the Four Dimensions of Focus—a science-based approach to fulfilling your potential.

A Kognitive magnifying glass productively focusing light onto a target

Focus is everything!

Focus is arguably the most important resource we have to achieve our goals. It’s what scientists refer to as a ‘core cognitive function’. Like a lens, it directs energy and resources towards a singular goal, making it a keystone of success.

High performance organisations, high performance teams and high performing individuals, all cultivate and harness a state of optimal focus.

But focus has become hard to come by. We now live in a stream of continuous notifications, updates, messages, emails and more. Our interconnected world has come at the cost of quality concentration.

With focus impacting almost every area of our work and lives, our fractured mental state is hurting our businesses, our families and our mental wellbeing.

Concentration is key to unlocking your potential

Enhance performance

Whether you're playing a sport, creating art or working in an office, if your focus is fractured or your mind is distracted, your performance will suffer. Every great athlete, performer or professional has developed strategies to help them protect, nurture and cultivate optimum focus. This program provides the insights, tools and support to accelerate your journey towards mastering focus and enhancing performance.

Accelerate skill acquisition

If practice makes perfect, then focused practice makes perfect fast. There is a direct correlation between the quality of your focus and the acquisition of new skills. Improve your focus and you improve your ability to acquire new skills.

Improve resilience and wellbeing

If we dig beneath the surface of many mental challenges, we find the mind ruminating on thoughts which generate negative effects. Strengthening your control over focus allows you to short circuit this process, take control and guide your mind to more productive thoughts and actions. It also allows you to live a more mindful life, live more in the present and is a channel for appreciation and positive experience.

Vitalise relationships

Improving focus allows you to be less distracted and more present with loved ones, laying the foundation for a more fulfilling and connected relationship.

Increase productivity

The quality of your focus directly impacts the time it takes you to complete a task and the quality of your work. Unfortunately, most companies organically create a state of fractured focus for their employees, hindering performance and hurting productivity. Improving the quality of focus drives up the productivity of individuals, teams and organisations.

Improve memory

Focus is the gateway for encoding memory. If you only have low quality or fractured focus, your memory will be far from your potential.

Elevate engagement

Tension can often arise in an office from the way staff inadvertently treat each other's focus. They can often feel agitated and frustrated by the constant state of interruption. By reducing the interruptions and deepening the respect for each other's focus, engagement and morale often increase as a consequence.

Strengthen collaboration

Interruption is not collaboration. As we journey into improving focus we develop more sophisticated ways of interacting and collaborating as teams. We build a culture which fuels focus and collaboration simultaneously, resulting in improved individual and team performance.

PROGRAM CONTENT

Explore the Four Dimensions of Focus.

Created by Kognitive’s in-house neuropsychologist and managing director, the Four Dimensions of Focus combines the latest discoveries from cognitive science with practical tools and strategies which help you, your team and your organisation unlock unprecedented focus, performance and wellbeing in four simple steps.

Optimise your environment

1st Dimension

The outside world—everything from those pesky notifications to an uncomfortable chair or a coworker—can destroy your concentration.

In the first dimension we explore the relationship between your focus and your surroundings. We help you craft an environment which fuels focus while finding balance between deep work, responsiveness and collaboration.

You’ll discover how much information the brain can really process, the truth about multitasking, task switching and the ultimate cost of distraction.

Outer focus delivers 10 practical tools to help you optimise your environment, communication and concentration, and discover how to adapt them to your context and goals.

Improve inner focus

2nd Dimension

Science has identified that even if we create the “perfect” environment for deep focus, we still distract ourselves more than anybody else could distract us.

In the second dimension, we journey inwards, analysing the internal operating system of focus and your relationship with your own mind.

We work on conquering internal distractions, becoming more mindful, increasing attention span, leveraging concentration cycles and unlocking flow.

Armed with 20 practical tools, the second dimension lays the foundation for increased resilience and mental wellbeing, improving focus control and unlocking unprecedented productivity.

Fortify the foundation

3rd Dimension

Even if we have optimised the external environment and improved our ability to control our inner focus, unless we are eating, sleeping, moving and breathing optimally, our focus and our performance will be far from its full potential.

In the third dimension, you’ll uncover alarming scientific discoveries which reveal how many of our daily habits have a deleterious effect on our concentration and wellbeing.

Get ready to be surprised as we explore the interconnection between food, movement, sleep, breath and attention.

Packed with over 30 practical tools to help you refine your daily habits, the inter dimensions helps you lay the foundation for sustained high-performance and focus.

Stay focused on what matters most

4th Dimension

Just like in physics—the fourth dimension of focus is—time. Now you have maximised your mental capacity to concentrate, the next step is to ensure you stay focused on what matters most over time.

In theory, this is simply prioritisation; in practice, however, it is much more complex.

In the fourth dimension, we delve into the cognitive building blocks of decision making and uncover how our cognitive biases can derail our prioritisation.

Armed with this deeper insight, you’ll uncover 10 practical tools to improve your planning, prioritisation and agility. The fourth dimension closes the loop on focus and sets you up for long-term success.

Frequently Asked Questions.

Who is the Maximise Focus training program for?

Who is the Maximise Focus training program for?

Maximise Focus is for busy, aspiring, ambitious professionals. The program is offered in three distinct versions which address the unique needs of specific stakeholders.

  • Leaders – This training equips leaders with the skills they need to not only become more productive, but to also build more productive organisations.
  • Teams – This training focuses on developing individuals, and also on improving overall team performance. It is structured for all team members to complete the program together.
  • Cross sectional groups – Our cross-sectional group trainings have been developed to allow individuals from different teams to embark on a shared learning journey. Although they address individual, team and leadership elements, learnings and tools provided are predominantly focused on helping the individual improve productivity, wellbeing and effectiveness.
How does Maximise Focus differ from time management or wellbeing training?

How does Maximise Focus differ from time management or wellbeing training?

Time management and wellbeing training programs give you a suite of tools, without helping you understand why they work (or more often than not, don’t work). They are a cooker cutter approach which focuses on relieving symptoms.

Maximise Focus, however, helps you understand how the human focus system works. From this deeper cognitive understanding we build customised tools and processes, which align with your personal preferences, to improve your focus and concentration. Improving your capacity to focus has flow through effects into your productivity, time management and wellbeing, as well as many other areas of your life.

Maximise focus addresses time management and wellbeing challenges at their core, i.e. in your cognition and behaviour, and helps you build solutions which get the best results for you.

How does Kognitive’s training differ from on demand training?

How does Kognitive’s training differ from on demand training?

On demand training sounds great in theory, but often fails in practice. Why? With on demand training there is no spontaneity, no human interaction, no back and forth wrestling with the ideas, content and people. All of the emphasis and motivation falls on you. Information flows unidirectionally and learning, engagement and ROI sufferers.

Live training (be it in person or online) is very different. It allows you to ask questions, encourages conversations and challenges you in real time. It is scheduled. It is social. It is effective.

Your entertainment works well on demand, but for major breakthroughs, we recommend you keep your learning live.
